Loh Pei Ying is the co-founder of Kontinentalist, an award-winning studio that advocates for a more equitable world that fosters connections between Asia’s sources of knowledge. Kontinentalist nurtures community around data and human experiences, telling innovative and rigorous data stories on topics ranging from how the rubber industry in Singapore and Malaysia was shaped by colonialism, to communicating climate change in Southeast Asia.
As a data storyteller and data vis practitioner, Pei Ying works with all types of organisations to communicate better with the public, transforming their research into visually stunning and interactive essays. she is passionate about telling stories with history, exploring cultural contexts and nuances, and helping others understand the systems that societies inherit and continue.
She is a firm believer of collaborative decision-making, and the importance of empathy and diversity in the workplace. She has has taught herself all the tools of my trade, from Geographic Information Systems to product management, data visualisation, and storytelling.

The Little U Guest Speaker Series is both a knowledge sharing and career guidance platform that gently allows children and their families to understand different paths available. We link these paths to individuals whose stories reflect the breadth and depth of their decisions, and the sacrifices involved. Come with a desire to learn from the best. In one hour, they will share their life story around the questions below, and then take questions from you.

Join us monthly from July to October 2026, on the 1st Saturdays of the month.
Do note : Unless our speaker is on the other side of the world, the sessions are usually from 10am-11am.
Each ticket is a zoom link for the upcoming session.
What to Expect Each Session
- A 20 mins sharing & 40 mins for Q&A.
We love asking our guest speakers questions. If they wish to share a longer story, they will cap it at 30 mins so that there is ample time to take questions later. - A backstory on their journey to success, or where they are now.
The speakers did not get to where they are without a meaningful struggle. They will be honest about their ups and downs so that we can appreciate the richness of their careers. Life is not linear. - They will speak at a level understandable to 15 year-olds.
Pitching to a 15 yo range would be broad enough to cover a wide demography. We welcome advanced tweens and parents to join the Guest Speaker Series if you are a curious learner! - Slides and some reels are useful to help the audience visualise what they mean.
Sensitive materials will be edited out for the recording, according to the guest speaker’s requirements. If you don’t want to miss out, join the session as a participant.
