Little U designs inclusive, equitable education for families who don’t fit the mainstream mould: homeschoolers, children who learn differently, children for whom school isn’t working right now, and families finding their way through hard seasons. At Learnery, our microschool, learning starts with a learner’s curiosity, not a syllabus. Our Youth Track educators bring together trauma-informed and competency-based education (TIE x CBE), so young people can learn somewhere that feels safe, and earn a real, portfolio-based transcript through our Mastery Transcript Consortium® membership.

Youth Track educators
We’re a small team doing serious work. This isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay.
Youth Track learners are young people aged 13 to 18 (and up to 24, case by case), building their own portfolios toward further study and work. We’re looking for educators who have an expertise they love, care deeply about young people’s safety and dignity, and want to grow a teaching practice that is both trauma-informed and competency-based.
Our educators are industry practitioners and experts in their fields: business owners, designers, retirees, and homeschooling caregivers growing their professional portfolios. Working freelance gives them the freedom to teach alongside the rest of their lives.
You’ll guide a small class of up to six learners through one of our 16 criteria, in a field you know well. You won’t be doing it alone: we offer training, guidance and space to reflect together, every term.

What you’ll be part of
Grow your own transcript as an educator
Once you’ve completed three terms with us, which is about how long it takes to settle into our TIE x CBE approach, you’ll be invited to develop a professional educator certification through Little U’s MTC Transcript for Advanced Learners: 16 Advanced Credits across 4 projects. It’s our way of investing in you, and a springboard for your growth as an educator.

Because our work with children is sensitive, we keep our circle of educators small and trusted. We first invite educators through our referral pool and partner organisations. And because every adult who works with our learners is individually vetted, you’ll teach your module personally, without substitutes.
